Transcript: Well if it’s been a moment since we’ve talked you’d least deserve an explanation. I’ve missed you guys and as we’ll talk about today I’ve missed me lately to this quarantine time so far. It’s been really good for me. You’re listening to living the freedom life podcast episode number forty
So here’s what happened before cove nineteen hit. I was talking with a very good friend of mine. And he asked about the podcast inside. I was squirming. I said well. Yeah about that. He instantly knew that whatever I said following that hesitation it was going to be filled with excuses. Well then what happened was really cool. We began to have what was to me an uncomfortable conversation but it needed to happen and I was in what we call a funk. My thought process was like this. I wanted to get to the point where we were helping. More people with our coaching practice. The vision of living the freedom life is to help people and some of the ways that I’ve received help. We WanNa do that as much as possible and research shows that in some arenas video gets better responses so we started producing videos. Let me tell you it was awkward. It was laboring. I didn’t look forward to it at all the way that most people feel about public speaking is the way. I feel about being in front of a camera. I didn’t like it. I was looking for results instead of walking by faith so during the holidays I took a break from the podcast so I thought that would be a perfect time to start doing the videos that mint podcast kinda faded away and I stopped contributing toward it. So let’s just say that there were very few people watching those videos and everything else turned into just background white noise just Blah Blah Blah. Well no matter what the circumstance you can insert the here because of will. I didn’t have look the bottom line is this. I got distracted. I was distracted by a squirrel or I got sidetracked. Whatever you WANNA call it. Therefore the entire vision and mission was temporarily sabotaged. Those are two different things. All of us have them. We usually don’t realize we do. But we have a mission and a vision. I’ve got some easy definitions for you. A Vision is usually what you want to do. And a mission is how you’re going to do it and both of these were sabotaged by me. Being sidetracked through such a small thing is what I call a squirrel or a distraction. It was a couple of months ago when everyone was Gung Ho about starting the beginning of the year fast and we made proclamations that in the year twenty twenty. I’m going to be better at fill in the blank here some search for a mantra or a verse that speaks to them for the entire year. Even a single word. We’ve even pin this year to mean perfect vision for twenty twenty well. Cova nineteen came and flipped everything on its edge including our nerves right now. This is April enough. Water’s gone under the bridge where we could have successfully started something we could have even gotten good at it or at least seeing some results from it but what happens in the Times where the schedules too tight. We don’t have enough time. We’re tired were hungry. You WanNa get out of the house or there’s not enough people around what happens then it seems like this pandemic has given us a brand new set of reasons of why we haven’t or better yet a new set of reasons to get distracted by. What is temporary? Listen don’t let the temporary dictate the longer vision and mission? Well the temporary is where we get sidetracked and eventually the vision and the mission could be completely sabotaged and then all of a sudden will wake up and ask ourselves what just happened. Where did the time go always have too much to do and never enough time will? If this cycle happens enough we can begin to believe.
